Leopold Bros. Absinthe Verte is a 750ml American absinthe from Leopold Bros., the family distillery in Denver, Colorado founded by brothers Todd and Scott Leopold. It starts with imported Chilean pisco as the base spirit, redistilled in a small 150-liter copper pot still with the traditional absinthe botanicals of anise, grande wormwood and sweet fennel plus proprietary herbs.

Instead of artificial coloring, the new-make absinthe is colored the traditional way by steeping hand-selected hyssop, melissa and Roman wormwood in cheesecloth. The result is a fragrant, herbal verte with a soft grape-spirit base. Serve it with iced water and a sugar cube, or use a rinse in a Sazerac.
